"Located in
lower Haifa, two bus stops from
the beach
and near the train to Akko,
this haven for those on budget was opened in winter 1999.
In an old neighbourhood, it's an old house beautifully redone
by owner manager Rachel's son in quiet shades of pale yellow,
with plants and bric-a-brac that lend a decorative touch.
The dormitories won't interest most travelers
(one is for women, one for men; each sleeps 14),
but there are five double rooms with private bath, and one without.
Reserve early for this good value,
complete with a small outside patio, kitchen facilities,
a tasty breakfast, and a helpful staff."

"there is
a dearth of budget accommodation in Haifa,
but two readers alerted us to the existence of a new hostel
.
'..the place is only one month old so it is super clean and modern.
This is the best place we have stayed at during
our two-month stint in the Middle-East.'.

and a warm and advice-laden manager, who will even do your laundry (for
NIS 30).

anytime

"The Port Inn is definitely
the best youth hostel @ the
greatest price I've stayed in over 1 year!
It's a shame I only found out about it
4 days before I am leaving.
